Import of point-cloud-data
Generally, the major function of 3D data
processing software cannot be operated against
point-cloud-data without polygonal mesh.
spGauge can be operated against dotted and
overlapped cloud points with no polygonal
mesh to meet any point-cloud-data captured
by any point-cloud-measuring-equipment.

3D CAD data, JAMA-IS: IGES format of Japanese
Automotive Industry, is imported to spGauge
to create the reference data of 3D pattern

The definition of alignment targets
The alignment targets: planes, cylinders,
cones, and spheres with analytical curved
surface are defined to align the two different
coordinate systems of point-cloud-data and
CAD data on spGauge.

Visual inspection
spGauge enables the visual inspection of
defective intersections by the slider bar
cursor. This method is similar to the contact
inspection method.





Cross section inspection
2D drawing data of each cross section is
generated. Slice lines are displayed on each
object's surface. And the errors can be confirmed
with numerical values by the various functions
of inspection.

data
Errors are indicated by colors. This function
enables to recognize the tendency of big
errors.


Automatic generation of targets' surface
data from point-cloud- data
The targets of surface data: planes, cylinders,
cones and spheres is generated in accordance
with the neighboring reference targets data
of CAD automatically.


Automatic generation of 3D wire frame data
3D wire frame data is generated by the intersections
of completed surface data of objects. This
method enables to generate the accurate data
of vertexes and lines in the case of insufficient
cloud points.
